Subscriber Communications

Thanks to a suggestion from one of our newsletter subscribers, Ulrike L. from Fairbanks, Alaska, we have this section on our web page where subscribers can share their successes in communicating with animals themselves We'd love to have you share your successes. They don't need to be large communications... even small steps in communicating are great starts. Just email them to
AnimalConn@aol.com and use the subject, My Communication in your email.

From Irene C. in Bethpage, New York      "A Quick Glance"

I would like to share this experience with you for whatever it was. I took a long trip recently. Animal Connection prepared Trouble for the trip very nicely and everything went well. I have tried many time to follow the directions on communicating with Trouble, but have never succeeded. While I was on the trip, I was riding in a car, and closed my eyes in an attempt to picture Trouble. Whenever I picture him, I see his whole body. This time I saw a cat's eye on each one of my closed eyelids, and a hint of a cat's nose over my nose. I was so startled that I opened my eyes, but I had the feeling that all was well with Trouble. I don't know if this was a true communication or not, but it was great whatever it was.

From Margret M. in Loxahatchee, FL "Saving Dogs"

I received your book and was amazed.... I did not believe in animal communication some months ago and I was very skeptical. But I tried it with the help of your book and talked to Hope, a 3 1/2 year old Bouvier girl, who I have saved from a puppy mill along with her puppies.

Hope growled and snarled at me and with this attitude there was no way I could find a new family for her. I communicated with her twice and I got the feeling that she was fearful of people because they always take her pups away. I promised her that I would find a home for her, where she would be loved and can stay with one of her pups.

I was amazed. She stopped growling and I could touch her. She became friendly to everyone.  I just drove her 2600 miles roundtrip to her new forever home.   She was very scared on the road, so I communicated with her again and told her that I would not abandon her and that her new family was waiting for her. She calmed down.

She’s now been with her new family for several weeks. She is dearly loved and is the best pet.

So, I am now a true believer in your work. Thank you again. You saved a life and will save more and more.

Tomorrow I will try to communicate again. I will try to calm the dogs down who have to go to Rainbow Bridge and will pick up another 15 rescue dogs.

From Tanya H. in Franktown, Colorado      "Horse Preferences"

After learning that I had taken a one-day course on animal communication, my neighbors asked me to try to talk with one of their 3 horses who are stabled at home with adjoining stalls and runs, all in a row. They started having problems with Skip, an older gelding, as he had started nipping at them whenever they would take him out for turnout or even when they were graining him. This was was new behavior for him, as he had always been polite.

Well, my first conversation with him was pretty unhelpful. He didn't really want to talk about much, and just indicated that he felt like biting, and so he bit! But I tried again, and this time he told me he HATED being last at everything. The way the stalls were laid out, he was on the far end from the food and from the turnout pasture, so they just naturally did the feeding and turnout in order. Skip did make a concession that he did not always need to be first, but just sometimes! So after this minor change-up in the order of feeding and turnout, they have not had any more trouble with Skip! Back to being the gentleman!

From Diane S. in Carthage, North Carolina      "Rodeo Sounds"

In May of 1998, I went to my last rodeo because of this event that happened to me. This thing that happened to me will haunt me for the rest of my life. Whenever it comes to mind, the hurt ignites inside.

After watching several broncos go their round, this one horse came out into the arena, who seemed quite out of control. There was not the usual rhythm flowing; just watching gave a real sense of chaos. This horse who was bucking so wildly, flew over to the far side and crashed head first into fence.  The horse continued his wild, uncontrolled session and then narrowly missed crashing again on the opposite side. Finally, his run was over and he was out of the arena. I was so shaken by all this that I told my husband   that I was going to walk over to where the horses were being held. What I had to do was see if I could find that horse.

In the mixed and hodge-podge jumbled group of heads and bodies, the one unfortunate horse walked out of the crowd over to the fence where I stood. As my mouth hanging open, and my heart both hit the ground, I swear to this day he said to me "I'm not suited for this. This is not what I want to do. I'm just not suited for this." As I looked at him, there was a large gash on his forehead and was already swelling up. I just clung to the fence and cried. There was four Large bulls standing a few feet away, all side by side each other. I heard one of them say "That horse needs help". I was stunned and I didn't know what to do. The third communication was from a young calf, who had just finished being roped, was about to fly through a narrow shute to the double decker truck he was supposed to load into. As soon as he saw me standing very near the fence, I put on brakes and stopped short. He said " Hey, I have to go through there". I backed up to give him his space, and he flew on by. All the time, those bulls just stood there watching me, unmoving.

I know there are top-notch rodeo circuits, and there are low level types, but this has sealed it for me. I can still hear those animals talking to me that day, and picture that horse.

By the way, I've even become vegetarian - last October!!

From Rita B. in Ramona, California      "A Cat from the Past"

After first taking Animal Connection's communication class, I was trying to communicate with one of my horses when one of my cats jumped on my lap and started rubbing her face on my face and pawing at my face. I kept my eyes closed and tried to push her away so I could keep concentrating, but she wouldn't quit. Finally I opened my eyes and she was looking straight at me and I kept hearing "I want to talk, I want to talk". Since I had been so distracted trying with the horse and this was coming so clear from the cat, I decided to give it a try.

She said "I used to be your cat, I used to be your cat". (She is normally kind of skitish, so I thought it was funny that she repeated everything) I then saw a very clear picture of a black and white cat that happened to be the very first stray I ever brought home when I was about 7 years old. I then told her how happy I was that she choose to come back to me and how happy I was to be able to care for her and love her again.

Then I asked her why she is so scared everytime someone comes over. The whole time there is a new person in the house, she is no where to be found, even if they stay overnight. She told me that the reason she left me the first time was that someone had picked her up and took her in their house and never let her out so she could come home and she was afraid someone would take her away from me again. I told her how beautiful she is and that I only want to show people how beautiful she is. I explained that I was only a child when she was with me before and I can protect her much better now and would never let anyone take her from me again. (She is strictly an indoor cat now--coyotes here knock on the door and demand we send out the cat) She said that she just couldn't take that chance and didn't even want to try and then quit talking.

That clear communication was just what I needed to keep trying to talk to my other animals. They really do communicate in different ways and some are easier to receive information from than others. They think it is so wonderful that a human tries to talk to them and to feel their love back is better than any hugs or licks.

From Karen    "Dreaming Communications"

My little dog, Simba, is a 4 year old miniature Schnauzer. He's a typical terrier in many ways: headstrong, excitable, wants to be the top dog, and he's also a real Mama's boy! He lives up to the phrase "follows me around like a puppy" since he makes a point never to get too far away from me in the house. When outside, he becomes a different dog. If the gate is left open (which my kids tend to do), he is out of the yard before you know it, so we have to check the gate before he's allowed out. I don't like to have him roam around the neighborhood. Even so, every so often he manages to "escape."

One night several weeks ago, he got out and didn't return after an hour or so like he usually does. I stayed up until 2:30 a.m. waiting for him until I finally had to go to sleep. I go to work at 6 a.m. and I just couldn't stay awake all night. I was so worried about him. I slept poorly and woke up about 4:30 from a very vivid dream. I dreamt I was on the front porch and wanted to come inside, but couldn't reach the door knob (like I was seeing the porch from about a foot off of the ground). I awoke suddenly with the dream still playing in my head. I was wide awake so I got up and checked outside and there was Simba on the front porch and very happy to see me. I can't say if he was asking to be let in or if I was doing some wishful dreaming, but I like to think he was trying to get my attention.
